About Me

With nearly 20 years of experience as a therapist, I have come to believe that healing happens through connection, curiosity, and learning to listen deeply to ourselves. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship, a space where you can show up exactly as you are and be met with compassion, respect, and genuine care.
Early in my career, I provided trauma focused therapy with the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. While this experience deepened my understanding of trauma and resilience, it also led me to a question that would shape the course of my work~Why do we often understand our struggles intellectually yet still find ourselves stuck in the same patterns?
As I explored this question, I became increasingly drawn to the connection between the mind, body, and nervous system. I began studying yoga, meditation, and somatic approaches, discovering that lasting change often emerges not only through insight, but through learning to listen to the body's signals and responses.
Since moving into private practice in 2008, I have integrated traditional psychotherapy with evidence based somatic practices that support nervous system regulation and emotional wellbeing. My training includes a Master's degree in Counseling from UNC Charlotte, a degree in Psychology from Ohio University, advanced training in trauma recovery and resilience, certification as a Level 2 Trauma Conscious Yoga Therapist, and training as an iRest practitioner. Together, these experiences continue to shape a holistic approach that honors both the wisdom of the mind and the wisdom of the body.
My husband and I moved to Asheville in 2013 with the intention of living closer to nature and embracing a slower pace of life. Our daughter and our sweet dog are daily reminders to be present, curious, and grounded in what matters most. My own yoga and meditation practice remains an important foundation in my life and work, continually teaching me the value of slowing down, listening inward, and meeting each moment with greater awareness.
I believe that beneath anxiety, overwhelm, and self doubt lies a deeper wisdom. My role is not to tell you who you are, but to help you reconnect with what has been there all along.
