Trauma

Trauma is the mind and body's response to experiences that feel overwhelming or deeply distressing. It can leave a person feeling disconnected, helpless, or uncertain about their sense of self. It may also keep the nervous system on high alert, reacting to present moments as though past danger is still happening. Over time, this can influence how memories are stored, how emotions are experienced, and how you relate to yourself and others.

Our work together moves at a pace that honors your nervous system. Safety, trust, and connection are the foundation of the healing process. Rather than rushing into difficult experiences, we begin by building the resources needed to help you feel more grounded, supported, and present. This may include mindfulness, nervous system regulation, breath awareness, gentle somatic practices, or guided meditation.

As your capacity for regulation grows, we gently explore how past experiences may be shaping current patterns of thought, emotion, relationships, and the way you move through the world. Somatic awareness helps us listen to the wisdom of the body, creating opportunities for greater understanding, healing, and integration. Together, we work to approach these experiences with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment or fear.

Healing from trauma is not about erasing the past. It is about helping your mind and body discover that greater safety, connection, and possibility exist in the present. As your nervous system becomes more regulated and your sense of self grows stronger, many people find they are able to move through life with greater resilience, self compassion, and trust in themselves.
