Stress Management
In today's fast-paced world, we find ourselves constantly bombarded by media, to-do lists, work and family demands, and a multitude of expectations. In this whirlwind, it becomes challenging to pause, reflect, and find a sense of grounding. Often, stress arises from the judgments we place on our experiences, categorizing them as either good or bad, which can lead to resistance. Drawing from principles in yoga theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness, I will equip you with the skills to recognize the buildup of stress, its effects on your body, and its influence on your mind.
Stress management is a highly individualized skill that requires cultivation and tailoring to your unique needs. Effective stress management can foster greater self-trust. Our work together will focus on pinpointing where stress manifests in your life, distinguishing between areas you can control and those beyond your control. We'll work together to develop practical coping skills, establish daily habits, and make lifestyle adjustments that support areas where you can enact change. For those aspects of life where change isn't feasible, we'll build coping strategies to manage stress, facilitate its release from the body, and foster acceptance of life as it unfolds.
In order to heal and make progress toward wellness, you must feel connected and safe within the therapeutic relationship. I strive to meet you where you are and create a safe space for exploration and healing. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities. I will work to integrate cognitive behavioral approaches, existential theory, practical coping, and mindfulness.
